About Hydraulic Cylinders
Hydraulic cylinders are linear actuators that convert hydraulic fluid power into linear motion and force. They consist of a base plug, main tube, piston, piston rod, gland, and ports. We can custom manufacture all of those components. They come in all shapes and forms with differences in design and manufacture varying dependent upon industry and application. There are benefits and disadvantages to each type of cylinder and each construction method uses a different methodology relating to how the end caps are attached to the cylinder tubes. The three most popular types of cylinder construction are welded, tie rod and mill type, all available as either double acting or single acting.

431 Stainless Steel
Type 431 is a harden-able martensitic stainless-steel alloy which combines high tensile strength and torsional strength. The material is subsequently well suited to shaft and cylinder manufacture. As the alloy offers considerable resistance to saltwater corrosion, it is used widely in marine equipment and systems as well.
