About Bradford Manufacturing Weeks
The initiative will take place between 4th – 15th October 2021 with the aim to introduce the district’s manufacturers to young people and boost apprenticeship numbers by creating more inspired, informed and ‘work ready’ applicants into the sector. It encourages manufacturers and schools to create a relationship in which they can work together throughout the rest of the academic year.
This year’s initiative will take a blended approach with a mixture of both virtual and face to face activities. Virtual activities include virtual tours / talks, hosted by the manufacturer on Microsoft teams and will allow several different schools / colleges to join. The tour will allow manufacturers to show the attendees round their premises and introduce them to different staff virtually.
The face-to-face activities will be activities such as work experience where students will go onsite and work in a department for between 1 – 5 days. As well as on-site visits, where students will join the business for a morning / afternoon to be shown round the premises and can ask any questions they may have.
